Liberal arts are an old fashioned and outdated form of thinking and studying. “Other countries, with more practical orientations, are running way ahead of us.” Countries that have adapted to a new technological way of educating are becoming more prosperous than the US. And what the two are saying is that we need to become more advanced and forget about the whole liberal arts thing.

People with liberal arts degrees are having a difficult time finding jobs. “recent graduates have had difficulty in the job market” Recent shift in people not wanting to hire a candidate with a philosophy major. This is true to both of their perspectives and people should just either start looking for a job ahead of time or choose another career path.
