To be honest the table was really hard to fill out. I couldn’t fill out a lot of the boxes because the topics had nothing to do with some of the passages we read. I’m not really sure how this is going to help me write the paper because I need a better understanding of what I needed to put on this table. I think I need more understanding of Michael Carter’s article because it’s all over the place. I did notice that Boyer and Scheuer/Ungar are somewhat connected but I needed more to truly connect them together but, some of their views are kind of similar. They basically both agree that it’s a liberal arts education VS. career-focused courses. They both understand that this is an issue. I wasn’t able to fill out a lot of the boxes for the major I chose. I’m not really sure why this is. The syllabus for the major didn’t include the history, social/economic implications, and/or the ethical/moral issues. The syllabus mostly talked about what students need to be able to do if they’re majoring in education.
